SUPERVISOR I, CEMETERIES (Position available in Pomona)
Employer: Archdiocese of Los Angeles-Human Resources
Description: Position Summary: Supervises overall cemetery grounds operations; assigns jobs to workers engaged in providing burial services and maintaining cemetery grounds and equipment.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of experience and education likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically: Five years of experience in all phases of cemetery grounds operations, including supervisory responsibilities; Coursework, seminars, workshops and training in basic horticultural maintenance, mechanics, equipment maintenance, supervision and personnel management, enforcement of safety practices and rules and regulations. Must have knowledge of interment/entombment and disinterment/disentombment procedures. Skills in interpersonal relations. Ability to train, coach, and direct the work of others. Ability to maintain positive public relations with patrons, funeral directors, priests and vendors, and ability to resolve problems and complaints. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) required.
