Motivating The Adults In Your Parish Or School: From Consumers To Disciples
There are lots of reasons why adults lose their zeal for the Christian Life. How do we recover a faith that sets our hearts on fire and moves us to make good the things that are broken in our lives? Join internationally renowned speaker, David Wells, as he addresses this question.
Not only is David Wells an internationally renowned speaker, but he is a practitioner of Adult Formation and is visiting the Southland where he will offer two opportunities in the Los Angeles Archdiocese to engage this hugely important question.
Mr. Wells is the Director of Formation for the Diocese of Plymouth, England, and comes to the Southland fresh from working with the Canadian Bishops Conference. His workshop "From Consumers to Disciples" is solidly grounded in practical guidance, reflective practice and engages people with humor arising from a life of failures, successes and discovery.
Wells invites us to join him as he reflects on a process to bring us to a clearer understanding of why adults can be reluctant or indifferent to the call of the Gospel. His practical strategies have arisen from his experience of responding to the symptoms of reluctance he has encountered among adults. Those who have participated in this half-day workshop have returned to their ministry invigorated, encouraged and enabled to engage adults anew in the parish, school and workplace settings in which adults grow in their faith from consumers to disciples.
